CURRAN, LANA GAYLE -Passed peacefully away in the arms of her loving family on September 4, 2015, age 36; gone to be with God, where there is no more suffering. Lana leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, her adoring and caring mother, Rosemary, who was by her side through it all; her devoted father Wilf (Gail), who carried her all the way; her loving sister, confidant & best friend, Lori Price (Paul); nephew, Jackson Price, her best buddy in the world and the light of her life; niece Julia Price, our new baby girl; Grandmother Jessie Sweeney; her step sister and brother, Deanne and Chris (Heather) Murray; her constant companion and pupper, Jesse. Also leaving to mourn Wilf’s siblings; Janet Kenny (Rick), Chris Curran (Debby), Heather Sullivan (Gary), John Curran (Marlene); Rosemary’s siblings; Marie Ladniak (Joe), Sandra Walsh (Cyril), Eddie Sweeney (Patricia), Anne Windsor (Algy); her cousins Lee, Mark and Grant Kenny, Ciaran, Shauna and Hannah Curran, Susan Costello, Dale and Sarah Sullivan, Erin Curran Simms, Alicia Curran; Gerard, Wanda and Jason Rossiter, Helen Tobin, Susan Bowen, Cyril, Bonita and Cindy Walsh, Billy, Trevor and Angie Sweeney, Steven Windsor, Alison Dalton, Nicole Martin, and all her little cousins who always brightened her days; her kidney donor and life-giving friend, J.R. Smith of New Lowell,Ontario; her two friends who stood by her through thick and thin, Sheena Hollett & Joey Piccott; her many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her Nan & Pop Curran (Anna & Paddy of Ferryland); her Granda Sweeney (Billy of Ferryland). We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Pat Parfrey, Dr.Maureen Hannaford, Dr. Pamela Pike, Dr. Bryan Curtis and all the doctors and staff at the Waterford Transplant Clinic, especially her nurse Sue Benson, R.N.; the kind and compassionate nurses & staff of 4 South A at the Health Sciences Center and all medical professionals who have attended to Lana’s health and care over the years; Dr. Iram Anees, for her kindness and professionalism during our final hospital stay. We would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Dr. Steven Paraskevas and Dr. Marcelo Cantarovich, her surgeon and nephrologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Special thanks to Rev. Ron Lee and Sister Dolorosa Brennan for their friendship and spiritual guidance. Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mount Pearl on Sunday, September 6, 2015 and Monday, September 7, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00p.m. Followed by a funeral service at Holy Trinity Church in Ferryland on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A family burial will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Lana’s memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador Region), the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, or Heavenly Creatures. Lana, your incredible strength and unwavering courage is an inspiration to us all. We have learned so much from you and will continue to for the rest of our lives. Thank you for showing us the way.
