Recently Basil and Rosanna (Rosie) Vokey passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord – Basil on March 1, 2017 and Rosie on May 18, 2017. There will be a memorial service held for them on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle. Prior to that there will be visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. The visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at that time. There will be a committal at a later date at the St. John’s General Protestant Cemetery on Waterford Bridge Road following a family service. Thank you for your prayers for the Vokey family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Daffodil Place or a charity of your choice.

On May 18, 2017, Rosanna Baggs Vokey passed peacefully away at HSC surrounded by her family. Rosanna Had celebrated her 97th birthday Apr09 2017 .Rosanna was was pre-deceased by her Husband Basil Mar01 2017.She leaves to mourn her children and their spouses: Stuart and Jeanette Vokey, Carol and Harry Granter, Gayle Vokey Hiscock, Dawn and Bob Warr, June and Cal Anthony, George Vokey, Gladys and Garry Noseworthy, Krista Vokey and David Sing and Dave and Camille Vokey (Newbury); more than 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and as per Basil & Rosanna's wishes and those of the Vokey Family A celebration of their extraordinary life will take place at an appropriate time in the future. On behalf of the family, we cannot say enough regarding the support of exceptional people who helped us through these difficult times.
