Obituary for Janet Elaine Edmonds

Janet Elaine Edmonds
EDMONDS, Janet Elaine (July 23, 1966 – May 20, 2017) – Surrounded by some of those who loved her most, with her sister reading to her some of the hundreds of beautiful posts from her Facebook friends, our treasured daughter, sister, and friend slipped away peacefully, to join loved ones who have taken this journey before her. Janet is survived by her father, Leroy Edmonds and mother, Sue Edmonds; her sister and best friend, Joy Edmonds; as well as an amazing circle of friends and extended family – including her “Fur babies”, Dusty and Buddy. Also, the family would like to acknowledge the help and support we have received from special friends Chris Panting, Paulette Moore (her sister-friend), Jody Richardson, and Wendy Woodland (another sister-friend). There are so many we would like to thank. Where to start? First the doctors who have given Janet so much help and support over the years, with special mention to doctors Moffatt, McCarthy, and Galway. You have always given her the absolute best of care and treatment. And we have to throw a big bouquet to the nursing staff at the Health Sciences Complex, 5 South B, and the angels of mercy at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, PCU (including you, Dr. Hurley!). Special thanks to Janet’s uncle, Rev. Russell Osmond, who was there with prayers and words of comfort during her last few days. There are others who have played a part in helping her with her many health challenges through the years, and we are very grateful, though you may not be mentioned here.
Thank you to those who posted on her Facebook page. We knew that Janet was a very special person, but we had no idea of how many she had affected in a positive way until the tributes started coming in. You have helped us see Janet in a different light, and this will help us more than you could know, as we face the future without our shining light. Arrangements entrusted to Barrett’s Funeral Home. A private family viewing will take place, followed by cremation. A Memorial Celebration of Janet’s life will take place this summer at a date to be announced. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to Perchance Theatre at Cupids – please visit the link https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/perchance-theatre-at-cupids/ to donate.
