Marion Batten - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on June 6, 2017, Marion (née Lear) Cuff Batten, aged 86 years. Predeceased by parents William John and Emmie Lear; loving husband of 46 years Carl Cuff (2003), George Batten (2007); sisters-in-law Annie Lear and Julie Batten; brothers-in-law Dawson (Edith) Cuff, Watson (Audrey) Cuff and Truman Cuff. Left to mourn with loving memories daughters: Rosalind (Aubrey) Ralph and Cynthia (Sam) Roberts; brother Bronson Lear; sister Olive (Frank) Anstey; grandchildren: Bethany Roberts (Ted Power), Sam Roberts (Kirsten Calon), Emily Ralph, Elizabeth (Shane) Bishop, and Catherine Ralph; great-granddaughter Hanna Bishop; step-daughter Betty Tobin (Walter); brothers-in-law: Bill Batten, Max (Violet) Batten, Victor Batten and Clayton Batten; sister-in-law Beulah Cuff and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors in St. Clare's CCU. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.; on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; and on Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 Noon. Funeral service to be held from Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle, 565 Kenmount Road, St. John's, NL on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Gideons International.
