TUCKER, Selena “Mildred” (nee Wicks): Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home at the age of 98 years. Mildred was the last sibling of the Wicks family. She was an active and devoted member of the LOBA and UCW. Predeceased by her husband: Ephraim; infant son: Cyril; great-great grandson: Matthew; parents: Eli and Suzannah; six brothers and three sisters. Leaving to mourn are her daughters: Gwen Knight, Marilyn Janes (Merv), Armorel Tucker and Valerie Noseworthy (Jerry); son: Derek (Christine); ten grandchildren, 12 great–grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff on the 1st floor and Dr. Alteen of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home whose kindness and special care was always greatly appreciated as well as Ruby Manor where Mildred resided for six years. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. on Thursday and Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. Funeral service will be held at Topsail United Church on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Topsail United Cemetery.
