STRYDE, Sherman James. Passed peacefully away at his home in St. Philip’s on June 11, 2017, age 77 years. Reunited with his wife, Dona, parents Otto and Olive, and brother-in-law Jasper Lake. Leaving behind to celebrate his life and witness are his children: Adela (Georges) Lafontaine, Annette (Jim) Hedges, Trevor (Cathy) Stryde and Roma (Shane) Flight. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Andrew, Christophe, Jeremy and Marc Charbonneau, Sebastian, Caroline and Dominic Lafontaine; Rebecca (Mike) McGee, Allison, Jillian and Rachel Hedges; Benjamin and Simon Stryde, Kaitlin and Dayna Murczek; Hannah, Laura, Luke and Heather Flight, as well as his great-grandchildren who may not be old enough to remember him, but will benefit from his influence on their parents. Also left to mourn are his brothers Harry (Elvina) Stryde, Ivan (Gladys) Stryde, and his favourite sister, Marion, as well as his in-laws Orville (Daphne) Cole, Goldwyn (Clyde) Tilley and Oren (Glenda) Cole.

Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitation on Thursday June 15th from 2:00-9:00. Funeral service to take place on Friday, June 16th at 11:00 am from the Salvation Army Citadel, 25 Adam’s Avenue. Internment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Sherman’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army Centre of Hope or a charity of one’s choice.
