The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sherman Stryde can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Dad's Beautiful Home

Adela, Annette, Trevor & Roma:

As you, with your families and spouses, get together during these days I’m sure you will recall many memories of growing up together and all the fun and happy times you shared.  Of course you will remember too, the times when your Dad & Mom made life not so pleasant for you after you had gone against their wishes! But just look at how you guys “turned out” – like an awesome batch of cookies – just right!

I remember 50 years back whenever your Dad would have testimony meeting in Clarkes Beach, he would most often sing his favourite song, which now has come to reality:

Above the waves of earthly strife, Above the ills and cares of life,

Where all is peaceful bright and fair, My home is there, my home is there.

Away from sorrow, doubt and pain, Away from worldly loss and pain,

From all temptation, tears and care, My home is there…

My beautiful home…in the land where the glorified ever shall roam,

Where angels wear bright crowns of light, my home is there.

As you spend these days together, may your family bonds be strengthened, your spiritual life be renewed and your determination to follow your Mom and Dad to that beautiful home be always your goal in life.
