Critch, Hubert Charles – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Hubert Critch. He passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex on Tuesday, August 15th, after a brief illness, at age 78, surrounded by his loving family. We were blessed to have this kind hearted, easy going soul in our lives and his presence will be missed. Predeceased by his loved wife Cynthia (Dawe); parents: Patrick & Louisa; sisters: Evelyn and Matilda; brothers: Mosie, Hilary, and Anthony; parents-in-law; Edgar & Edith Dawe. Left with fond and loving memories his daughter Valerie (Brian) and his sons: Gary (Hiedi), and Darryl (Karla); grandchildren: Alex, Adam, Shayna, Tiffany, and Chelsea; siblings: Mary Ellen Tobin, Aiden, Felix (Mary), Arnold (Lidwina), and Gabe (Helena); in-laws: Olga (Bert Clarke), Marjorie (Stead Allingham), Edgar Jr. (Doris), Jocelyn Morgan, Gloria (Gary Taylor) and Imelda Critch; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We would like to give special thanks to the Surgical and ICU teams at the HSC who cared for dad in his final days, especially nurses Jennifer & Suzanne. We would like to particularly thank Dr. Sheilagh McGrath for her years of care of dad. She treated him like family to which we will be eternally grateful. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Thursday & Friday, August 17th & 18th, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral Mass will be from Corpus Christi Parish on Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00am. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery, Upper Gullies.
