Condolence: I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Dick. I have fond memories of him from my much younger years at home. I remember him as a very kind and caring man; a dedicated man to his family, friends, and indeed the C.L.B. Band to which he served for so many years. I send my deepest condolence to all the Hammond families; especially my cousins, Aunt Carrie, Aunt Jessie, and Uncle Eric. Although Uncle Dick will be dearly missed memories of him will always live with us all because of the very special person he was to everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Condolence: Beverly, Pamela, Sandra, Wallace and David;
We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Dick. Our deepest sympathy, as well as our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of grief and sadness. Uncle Dick will be remembered by me as a gentle and humble human being. I have very happy memories of him that go way back to my teenage years and especially my years with the CLB. Uncle Dick always wanted me to learn how to play the clarinet and he spent a lot of time trying to teach me. While today our hearts are broken, we are also thankful for his long life and witness, which is a cause for celebration. Wish I could be there with all of you at this time, but other commitments will prevent me from doing so. May he rest in peace until one day when we will all meet again. God Bless yo all.

Condolence From: Brenda & Melvin Cook
Condolence: We were so sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing & we both would like to send along our condolences to all the family. Memories of Uncle Dick are mostly from younger times watching him on parade all dressed up in his CLB uniform & yes his love for music ... such a gentle soul, a true family man with a wonderfully dry humour, soft smile & laugh & really the kindest gentleman. I am certain Aunt Freda & Barbara especially are happy to welcome him with open arms .. what a joyous reunion. We wish him a peaceful rest & strength for our cousins at this difficult time. Thinking of you all with Deepest Sympathies.
Hugs Brenda (Ottawa) & Melvin (Cambridge ON)

P.S. Robert loved your Canada geese story.

Condolence From: Robert Hammond
Condolence: To all my cousins, I am so very saddened to just find out about your dad's passing. I was down to visit my mom, Aunt Irene from Sept 16 to 23 and stopped in to see Uncle Dick on Sept 18, his memory was sharper than a thumb tack; I mentioned to him an episode where he and my dad Uncle Reg caught 2 live Canada Geese and put them in the back of the car with us kids one Sunday up the Southern Shore. He told me it was up on the Witless Bay Line and he was driving and ran the geese over but didn't kill them and they ran into the bush and the two laddie's chased and caught them and put them in the back with us kid's and brought them back to St. John's where they ended up on Nannie Hammond's dinner table the next day.|Please all of you accept my deepest sympathies Robert Hammond

Condolence From: Your Neighbor
Condolence: Please allow me to express my deepest condolences for your family's loss. I hope that you will find comfort in the real hope that the Bible gives of being reunited with your loved one again. In the Bible at John 5:28, 29 it reads, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.". The Bible there promises that your loved one will come back to life again in the resurrection. (Acts 24:15) The Bible also promises that soon death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3, 4) I encourage you to visit JW.org for more information about this wonderful hope.
