Obituary for Harold Johnson

Harold Edward Johnson, age 64, passed peacefully away in the presence of members of his loving family during the late morning of Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Harold was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Blanch (Dalton), his father, Wilber Bert, his mother-in-law, Dells Way (Bennett) and his father-in-law, Hedley Way. Leaving to mourn his beloved wife and best friend, Betty, his brothers Wylie (Lynne Kurylo) and Albert (Trudi), other family and many friends and colleagues. Harold was an educator for all of his working life, first as a high school teacher and then as a college and university instructor. The final twenty years of his career was spent as the Undergraduate Program Officer in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Harold was a dedicated and caring teacher, instructor and administrator and many students remember him for his teaching and his kind assistance as they pursued their post secondary education. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s, NL, on Saturday, November 11th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 12th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Gower Street United Church on Monday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the Dr. H.
