Obituary for Keith Taylor

Keith  Taylor
Passed peacefully away at home on January 13, 2018, F.G. Keith Taylor in his 80th year after a lengthy battle with cancer. Keith leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Barbara, his daughter Susan Ploughman (Bruce) and son Colin (Kim), his beloved grandchildren Jeremy and Claire Ploughman and Noah and Jake Taylor; Sisters Cynthia Mills, Ottawa, Glenda Campaniolo, New Jersey, brother Robin, Lac du Bonnet and nieces and nephews. Keith spent his teaching years in the Physical Education Department of Memorial University retiring as head of the department in 1995. His contributions to sport and recreation in the province were many. Keith had a great love of the outdoors. Many hours were spent cross country skiing, fishing, canoeing, gardening and especially enjoying his family time at the cabin. The family would like to thank Dr. Debra Bergstorm for her care and compassion during Keith’s illness and family doctor Peter Noel. Special thanks go to the nurses at the Ambulatory Treatment Unit of Health Sciences Complex for making a difficult time as pleasant as possible. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitations on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:30pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm and on Thursday, January 18 from 2:00pm-4:30pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 19 at St. James United Church at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Keith Taylor Memorial Award” at Memorial University through the Office of Development, PO Box 4200 STN C, St. John’s, NL, A1C 5S7, or online at www.mun.ca/alumni/give.
