Condolences

Condolence From: Cindy Crocker Ryan
Condolence: To the Susan and the entire Taylor family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. The news just reached me this past week. My thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult days.

I have very fond memories of your dad as my professor, and head of the department during my years at Memorial. I have come to regocnize the wisdom, integrity and awesomeness of his work as he helped shape us as educators, and people. He was a natural leader, with a passion for excellence and I cherish his influence on my journey forever.
With deepest sympathy,
Cindy Crocker Ryan

Condolence: Dear Barb, Susan and Bruce, Colin and Kim and grandchildren.
I offer my condolences on your loss of Keith, as fine a father, grandfather and gentleman as ever lived. He was an inspiration to so many in his work and play. As co-worker and eventually my boss he was always, always the same steady, reliable and supportive person as so many have already testified. Once he set a goal he invariable stayed the course, even though sometimes he was a tad stubborn. I recall an occasion while skiing The Syenite in Clarenville, he broke one of his skis. I, having finished, heard this news and set off back into the country carrying a spare ski for him. When I eventually met him struggling on one good ski and one broken off, he refused my offer saying "Thanks, but these are the skis I started on and I will finish on these, broken or not!" And another time I fell and broke a finger and for a few weeks had to ski with only one pole. Well every time I went he came too using only one pole saying that if I had to do it he could ski with one pole too. This is how he stuck to his goals (and friends) in life. Outdoor activities in Newfoundland and Labrador have developed significantly through the dedication of Keith and his entire family.
Keith has been the most steadfast of friends for over 45 years, teaching, running, canoeing, orienteering, x-c skiing and sharing in life's adventures.
Keith set high standards for himself and thereby was an example to all his many students. He will be missed, but fondly remembered.

Condolence: Sincere condolences to Barb and family on the passing of Keith. Our association is through Memorial University starting back in the sixties. I am glad that I was able to touch base with you on my last trip to Nfld in October. May Keith be at peace and may you find a degree of comfort in that others share in your loss and grief.

Condolence: Sending our deepest sympathies to Barb and all your family. I first knew and respected him as ‘Mr. Taylor’ through volleyball during the 70’s and then as ‘Keith’ during our WERAC years. What a privilege we’ve all felt, as reflected in the messages of condolences left here. A true gentleman, always leading by example and leaving us with great memories and aspirations. Jennifer & Doug

Condolence: To the Taylor family, so sorry to hear of Keith’s passing. “Mr. Taylor” was a very kind person, wonderful teacher and great role model. I have very fond memories of my student years at Memorial, especially through his involvement with the volleyball program at MUN and introducing me to cross country skiing. There is no doubt that Keith touched so many lives in a very positive way and has left a wonderful legacy.

Condolence: Mrs Taylor, Susan and Colin it was such a shock to me to hear of Mr Taylor passing away. When I went to MUN in '69 he was the first person I met and for 5 years he was my coach, mentor, friend and a lifetime role model. I still recall Susan and Colin hanging around the gym during volleyball practices and tournaments. There was no question about how much you all meant to him. I am so grateful that I had an opportunity a few years ago to thank him for all that he did for me and taught me in those formative years. I'm sure that I speak for all that knew him in saying that he was one of the finest people that I ever knew.

Condolence: I remember Keith Taylor from the early 1960's Carbonear swimming pool and field where he had organized outdoor sports for kids like myself from Irishtown Rd. Many an early morning, we often took a short cut passing by the Battery Rock on the way to the old pool down on the Valley Road. He was a good guy. Sorry for your loss. Bill Barry
