TOOPE, Wayne - Passed peacefully away at the St. Petersburg General Hospital on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at the age of 62. Predeceased by his parents: Stuart and Jessie Toope, parents-in-law: Lillian and Paddy Hollohan, father-in-law: Robert Barker, sister: Phyllis, brother: Randy and brother-in-law: Ray Christopher. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Teresa, daughter Darlene (Roy Pittman); son Stuart and his precious grandchildren: Zaylee and Acelynd; sisters: Karen Christopher, Berdina Ford (Ray) and Dianne; brothers: Keith (Karen) and Ernest (Diane); sisters-in-law: Della Toope, Ellen Abbott, Mary Barker and Eileen Pardy; nephews and nieces; aunts and uncles and a large circle of other relatives and friends from both his permanent home in Newfoundland as well as his winter home at Paradise Shores in St. Petersburg, Florida. Special thanks to the staff of the ICU at St. Petersburg General Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion. A celebration of Wayne's life was held on Saturday, February 17th at his home in Florida. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl on Friday, February 23 from 7:00 -9:00, Saturday, February 24 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. and Sunday, February 25 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Church of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive, Mt. Pearl. Interment to follow at a later date in Port Rexton, Trinity Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Wayne's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
