Simms, Daisy “Diane” (1954 – 2018)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Simms at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Monday, April 10, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends, after a long courageous battle with cancer and health complications at age 63. Predeceased by her parents Charles & Daisy Easton; brother Kevin; brothers-in-law: Harvey, John, and Clyde; sisters-in-law: Jessie, Violet, Mary, Mabel and Ruby. Left with fond and loving memories her husband of 40 years, Wallace; her pride & joy daughter Delena and husband Corey; 2 precious grand-daughters Keira and Rebecca; brothers: Eric, Ray, Keith (Faustina), and Alan (Tania); sisters-in-law: Lavinia, Cathy, and Elsie (Vincent); dear cousin Annie Parsons (George); best friend Sharon Toope; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and medical staffs at the Cancer Clinic, Health Sciences Centre, and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital especially 7 West, and to Rev. Lynn Courage, Canon Iliffe Sheppard, and Canon David Burrows of the Parish of the Ascension. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Thursday, April 12th, from 7:00pm-9:00pm; and on Friday, April 13th, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral service to be held from Parish of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive on Saturday, April 14th, at 2:00pm.
