The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Barbara Whalen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Whalen, Barbara – Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, on May 23rd, 2018, surrounded by laughter, tears and stories in the presence of her family. Barbara Whalen. Age 60 years. Predeceased by her father Jesse Whalen and baby brother John. Leaving to mourn her children: Angela Baker (Power), Jessica Chafe (Derrick Francis) and Christopher Chafe; her grandchildren: Grady, Riley and Liam; her beautiful mother Edna Whalen (Williams); her siblings Randy, Chris (Charlotte), Mike, and Jennifer (Michael); her nieces: Cassandra, Chantell and Rachel; great-niece Tianna; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and her large circle of friends. A special thank you to the staff at the Waterford on W3A, especially her nurse Sharon, Dr. Ogunyemi and his team, and all the nurses on 4SB at the Health Science Centre. Visitation to take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Saturday from 2p.m. -4 p.m. and 7p.m. -9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Barrett’s Chapel at 11AM on Sunday, May 27th, 2018.
