Obituary for Dean Downey
Downey Dean
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on Thursday, September 6, 2018, Dean Downey, aged 67 years. Dean is predeceased by his son Donald Dean, father Victor John, sister Darlene Hanlon, brother-in-law Wayne Yetman, sister-in-law Lorraine Downey and friend Bob Murphy.
Leaving to mourn are his mother Doris Downey, son Scott Downey and his mother Jean Casey, son Jason Dunn (Joanne) and his mother Cathy, and Jenny Mugford with whom he shared his beloved Deanie. Also sharing in this loss are his siblings: Shirley Yetman, Gerald “Butch” (Rita), David (Sharon), John (Sharon), Wanda Blackwood (Jeff) and Kim Cassell (Colin).
Dean will forever be lovingly remembered by uncle Dean Burry, a large circle of nieces and nephews and many friends especially John and Carol Lundrigan, Rod Lear, Dennis Wall, Harold Reid, Jim Hamlyn (Hamster), Paddy Hurley, John O’Brien and his best friend Piper. Visitation Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 12noon-9pm at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Burial service will take place on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 1pm from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. No flowers by request, donations in Dean’s memory may be made to the Food Bank.
