Obituary for David Wayne Vallis

David Wayne Vallis
It is with great sadness, that our family announces the passing of David Wayne Vallis, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, local business man, long-time member and past president of the Association of Newfoundland Land Surveyors Association.
Our family said our loving and final goodbyes to Dave on Saturday September 8th, 2018.
Dave was predeceased by his parents Eva and Jack Vallis, and sister Judy Bohnet. Leaving broken hearted to mourn, with amazing memories are; his wife of 37 years Patsy, and children Lorilee Pumphrey (Richard) and Cory, as well as his 3 precious grand children Alexander, Caleb and Paige. Also left to mourn are, lifelong friend – Ed Barbour and business associate Jim Guiney as well as many sister/brothers in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins of the Bohnet, Ershler and Vallis families, including special cousins Marg & Darryl Vallis, and Charley Sheehan who Dave often thought of as a “granddaughter”. The family would like to express special thanks to Ed Barbour for being by our side every step of they way – words can not express our gratitude. We would also like to thank the staff and care teams of the; Health Sciences Centre, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic as well as Dr. Rogers and the Palliative Care team - your care and compassion will not be forgotten.

At Dave’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home (328 Hamilton Ave) on Tuesday, September 11th from 2pm-9pm and a farewell service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, September 12th at 2pm. Close family and friends are invited to the family home following the service to share in memories. In lieu of flowers, Dave has requested that donations be made to the Janeway Foundation or the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic.
