SEARS, Catherine Louise (nee Stapleton) – December 21, 1951 – September 17, 2018. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine Louise Sears, on Monday, September 17, 2018 with her daughter Robyn and friend Michael by her side at the L.A. Miller Center, Palliative Care Unit. Predeceased by her parents: Peter and Melba and brothers: Ted (Ocean Ranger) and Pat. Leaving to mourn her devoted daughter Robyn (Marco Fiore); her brothers: Jack, Bob (Charlotte), Carl, Donald (Gail); sister-in-law: Helen Stapleton; Aunts and Uncles: Irene and Cliff Loder, Ruth Brown (Mac- deceased) and Lizzie Hussey (Allan – deceased). Special mention to Cathy’s best friend Lorraine (Wayne) Carroll, Peter Halley, Michael Power, Terry Peach and her lifelong childhood friends Ann Marie Gollop and Cathy Sheehan, and neighbors Barb and Fred Wakeham. As well as a large circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks to the Drs. Nurses and support staff of the Palliative Care Unit, of the L.A. Miller Center, the H. Bliss Cancer Clinic and the H.S.C 4 North A for their compassion and care. At Cathy’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Cathy’s memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre.
