Passed peacefully away with her family at her bedside, on December 10, 2018, Lucy Agnes Cecelia (nee O’Brien) Fitzpatrick of Mount Pearl (Formally of Bay Bulls). She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Alice (nee Williams) O’Brien both of Bay Bulls. She is also predeceased by her nine siblings and their spouses: Con & Winnie, Arthur and Louise, Walter and first wife Alice, Joseph and Marjorie, Rudy, Martin, Mary D’Huyvetter-Puya and husbands Albert D’Huyvetter and Richard Puya, Bessie and Dixon Moore, and infant sister, Ivetta and her brother-in-law James Dinn.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 56 years, Louis Fitzpatrick, her daughters, Jane (Darryl Johnson) and Nancy and her two precious grandsons, Matthew and Mark Johnson, her sisters in law, Mary Dinn, Monica O’Brien and Margaret O’Brien. Also leaving to mourn special friends, Jean and Mike Reid as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, the United States and Europe. She will also be missed by her friends and fellow parishioners at Mary Queen of the World church, where she has been a parishioner since 1966.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Lucy’s great niece, Dr. Jacqueline Costello, Dr. Essaji, Dr. Zadorozny, nurse & neighbor, Kelly Ralph, as well as all of the community health nurses who assisted in her care, Monsignor Pat Kennedy, Father Wayne Dohey, and neighbor’s Peter and Brenda Kent. Special thanks as well to Alana and everyone at the ATU clinic at the Health Sciences Centre.

Cremation has taken place. Lucy is resting for the first night only on Wednesday, December 12th at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Commonwealth Ave., Mount Pearl from 2-5pm and 7-9pm, and the second night, Thursday, December 13th at Ryan’s Funeral Home in Bay Bulls from 2-5pm and 7-9pm.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Bay Bulls on Friday, December 14th at 10am. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Reception immediately following the funeral at O’Brien’s restaurant in Bay Bulls. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Mary Queen of the World Parish, Mt. Pearl.
