It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Leo James McKenna on January 4, 2019 at the age of 79.
Pre-deceased by parents Kathleen and James McKenna and brothers Gerard and Kevin McKenna, step-sisters Maude McKenna and Isabel Hurley and step-brother Justin McKenna.
Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 57 years, Marina; son Harry McKenna (Wanda), daughters Michelle Moores (Brad), and Sharon Drover (Gary), and loving Grandchildren, Nicole and Samantha Moores, Michael and Laura McKenna, Steven and Zachary Cross. Leo will be sadly missed by his siblings Madeline Lyver (Andy), Bride Evoy (Doug), Patricia McKenna and James McKenna, together with sister-in-law Patricia Lester (Wade) and daughter Kendra and many other family and friends.
Leo was a true loving man that touched the hearts of everyone he met. Leo’s smile, sense of humor and ability to “light up the room” will never be forgotten. He was a dedicated and long-time member of St. Peter’s Parish in Mount Pearl and to the Mount Pearl Knights of Columbus.
Visitation at Barret’s funeral home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, Mount Pearl, Monday January 7th from 12-9 PM. and funeral mass and a celebration of Leo’s life, to take place Tuesday January 8th at 10 AM at St. Peter’s Parish, 110 Ashford drive. Cremation to follow.
