GOSSE, Verena Florence – Passed away peacefully at Pleasantview Towers on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, age 66 years. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Pearl (nee Boone) and William Gosse; and many aunts and uncles. She leaves to mourn, her Uncle Peter Brett (Marcie) of Clarke’s Beach; many caring cousins and extended family; as well as a legion of exceptionally loyal and devoted friends. After graduating from Gander Collegiate, Verena earned a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 Master’s Degrees at Memorial University, and spent her entire career as an Associate Professor of Psychology at MUN. Verena considered herself to have led a full, fortunate and blessed life. She did so with grace and determination and a healthy portion of stubbornness, all of which served her well. She has a special place in many hearts. Sincere thanks to the staff at Pleasantview Towers, 3 North East, for their care and compassion in Verena’s final months. Also, a special thanks to the staff at Tiffany Village, her previous home, for their attention and care during her stay there. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, June 16, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:30pm with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
