Frederick Selwyn  Thomas
It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our Dad, Frederick S. Thomas on September 6, 2018 at the age of 80 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home surrounded by the love and support of his family. Dad was born to Matthew and Jesse Thomas on December 16, 1937. Leaving to mourn with a heart full of memories his loving, caring and compassionate wife of 54 years Mollie (nee Melvin) who was by his side and held his hand when he passed. His devoted and cherished children who ensured he was surrounded by their loving presence day and night as he prepared for his final journey home. His daughters Karen (Gary Dinn), Lana (Glen Codner), his sons Peter (Tina) and Paul (Kim). His cherished grandchildren Stephen and Crystal (Dustin Hartery) Dinn, Shauna and Cole Codner, Paige and Portia Thomas and Alicia Cole. Also leaving to mourn his sisters Marjorie (Lorne Critch), Noreen and brothers Al (Barb) and Bob. Brother in Law Gary Courage. Leaving to mourn Mom’s sisters Matilda Melvin, Theresa Dinn, Mildred Bruff (Fred), Joan Dalton and brothers Dave Melvin, Austin Melvin (Thelma) and Tom Melvin (Glenda). Sisters-in-law Gerty, Agnes, Mina and Theresa Melvin. Brother in Law Aloysius O’Brien. Missing him also will be numerous nieces and nephews of the Thomas and Melvin families, cousins, and other friends. The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Dad’s caregivers at St. Luke’s Nursing Home and the staff of 7 West at St. Clare’s for their care and compassion to both Dad and us during this difficult time. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton avenue on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 7-9pm and Sunday September 9, from 2-9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, Sept 10 at 2:00 pm at Barrett’s Chapel. Flowers gratefully accepted or expressions of sympathy donations to one’s charity of choice.
Dad, we will miss your daily calls and our daily Tim’s run for your double double. But rest assured that every sip we take in the days ahead we will smile and think of you. May you finally Rest in Peace.
