Obituary for James Pottle

James Pottle
(John) James "Jim" Pottle, aged 72 years. Passed away suddenly on February 13, 2018 in his home in St. John's. Predeceased by his loving wife, Jeanette (née Bonnell), and parents Thomas and Ethel (née Harris), and brother Terry. Leaving to mourn his beloved daughter, Jacqueline (Shana), who was his pride and joy; siblings Mildred, Nigel (Geordie), Chesley (Tina), Clayton, Eric (Glenda), and Pearleen (Rick); special friend, Betty Brown; special cousin, Mary Pridham; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jim worked for many years as an educator in Goose Bay, Random Island, and Clarenville. Teaching was not just his chosen career, it was his passion - he loved to explain the workings of the world to anyone who wanted to learn. He loved to tell stories, sing songs, and live life with gusto.

At Jim's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home on Hamilton Avenue on Friday, February 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, and on Saturday, February 17 from 11:00 to 1:30. Funeral service to follow at Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, February 17 at 2:00. Flowers are gratefully accepted or a donation can be made in his memory to Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue, Multiple Sclerosis, or a charity of one's choice.
